CAPTAINS AND BOATS
Years of experience on the Red Sea and also of working with tourists and divers are the characteristics of the boat crews and a big advantage for you.
They do not only drive their boats, they also keep them tidy and functional.
They help you with your equipment going in and out of the water and supply you with a carefully prepared lunch buffet.
You will definitely experience the well-known Egyptian hospitality aboard our boats.
FOOD AND BOATS
Our own fleet of diving boats, regularly maintained, is in an excellent condition, visually and technically. The boats were specially built for diving and were furnished and arranged to fulfil the needs a diver may have.
You find a large space for your equipment and to get dressed for diving and we have ladders easy to climb. All tanks are safely secured and easy to reach. In the end this is not only a matter of comfort, but also of safety on board.
After a dive you are welcome to relax on the sun-protected upper deck or in the cosy cabin. Here the daily varied menus, prepared by the crew in the typical Egyptian style, are being served as rich buffets.
The excellent Egyptian black tea is available all day long, but you should also take one or two big bottles of water with you, because you lose a lot of liquid through diving activities and the heat and wind. The water you want to take on board can be bought at the Shaab Stella Bar the prior evening or in the morning before going to the boat (guests staying “all inclusive” in the Giftun get two bottles of water per person “for free”). Soft drinks are available on the boats.
On the way back to Giftun, shortly before the boat reaches the jetty, the crew collects the money for lunch and soft drinks. We would appreciate if you bring smaller notes or the exact amount. Of course tip (baksheesh) is welcome, and surely the cook will remember your kindness next lunchtime.
